Licensing & Trust

Know the home. Understand your protections.

Choosing care calls for more than reassurance. You should be able to check the licensing information, understand the agreement, and know how to raise a concern.

Before and after admission

What you should expect.

These protections help you understand the care and make an informed decision.

01

An assessment before admission

The licensee or administrator completes pre-admission screening to understand care needs, preferences, and safety, and confirm whether the home can provide the support needed.

02

Care and costs in writing

Review the Residency Agreement, rates, policies, and disclosures before admission. Ask for an explanation of any term you do not understand.

03

A care plan that includes you

The written plan records your needs, preferences, and assistance. Family, representatives, and providers may contribute where appropriate.

04

Rights throughout your stay

You keep rights to dignity, privacy, choice, and raising concerns. The official rights notice is explained and provided at admission.

Planning for emergencies

Your needs are part of the plan.

The Pearl has a written emergency plan covering situations such as a fire, a loss of power, or the need to leave the home temporarily. The plan considers the assistance individual residents may need, including help with mobility, communication, or understanding what is happening.

It also addresses essential care information, medication needs, and notifying families or representatives when residents are safe. When you move in, we explain the emergency arrangements and the assistance planned for you.

If an emergency would be particularly difficult because of your mobility, hearing, vision, or other care needs, discuss that with us during the admission review. Those needs are part of deciding whether the home can support you safely.
